What a wonderful day on Sunday – bathed in sunshine all morning, with just a squall of brief wind & rain late in the afternoon.
Thank you so much to all individuals that tackled all the tasks performed towards this year’s Puff & Pull Carnival event, but also the teams for everything done to ensure the Puff & Pull Carnival 2016 was a great success. Please pass on this message.
We hope all Teams competing for the Pull of 28 ton (unladen) Gabriel the steam engine are super-proud of your efforts, and will consider putting in a team next year. This year we have not only awarded trophies in a range of categories, but also given worthwhile prizes to paying competitive teams.
We have been told that 3 pairs of men are now going into training to pull Gabriel for the new special Girven award. That should be something worth coming to see! It will include Tom and David Joyce – our super heroes from last year…
We will announce the date in May for next year soon – put this into your diaries.
Market stall holders – we hope you enjoyed your day and feel it was successful, and be sure we will be building on this years experiences.
To Talent Quest competitors, and the music makers and performers in the Park, thank you for helping to make the day so memorable. We have such a lot of Talent in the Far North – and it’s great we have the opportunity to display it. We had visitors from all over NZ and overseas – our fame will spread!
