Come join us for Labour weekend.
Thanks to our awesome volunteer team we have three journeys every day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
10:00am, 12noon and 2:00pm this Labour weekend 20th- 23rd October. Including a Steam Day with our famous Gabriel the steam engine, back on track Saturday 21st.
Journey 1.5hour through the bustling town of Kawakawa on SH1 and travel over the longest curved rail bridge in the southern hemisphere towards Opua, alongside the beautiful Taumarere River. Spot rare and endangered birds and unique wetland landscapes through to Te Akeake. There’s the option to walk or cycle one way to mix it up or sit back and relax.
Book tickets at the Kawakawa Station or online through Eventbrite.
Please note Gabriel the steam engine pricing is different to the regular engine pricing, this is due to increased operating costs to run this heritage engine. Please choose Steam Engine pricing when selecting your tickets for Saturday 21st October.
