Trains running under the Red COVID traffic light setting

Get close up and personal with our engines!
BOIVR trains are running under the RED COVID traffic light setting. The Trust has chosen to require the use of the “My Vaccine Pass” verification for all visitors, and this will be necessary in order to purchase tickets.
Please wear face masks, and sign in (QR codes on station platform and in trains) and observe any distancing rules around BOIVR station platforms, in the shop and on trains.
Trains depart 4 times daily from Kawakawa Railway Station at 10.45am, 12 noon, 1.15pm and 2.30pm, returning about 50 minutes later.
Return fares: $20 adult, $18 Gold Card, $5 school age child, free under school age, $45 family (defined as 2 adults and up to 3 children).
Single (one way) fares: $10 adult, $2.50 child.
Gabriel Club supporters pay an annual subscription and benefit from 50% reduction in fares when they show their membership card – a cost effective way of travelling! How about this for a Christmas present…
Browse our shop for other gifts and 2 types of BOIVR-own calendars.
We look forward to welcoming you all aboard.
This COVID traffic light setting means that up to 100 people may travel on a train based on 1-metre physical distancing.
Much work is going on on our track beyond Long Bridge at the moment. Please note that Long Bridge is shut with no public access to the track to Lone Cow station (the half-way point to Opua) whilst railway recovery work is going on.
